Passion Fire Diamonds

Passion Fire is the premium product for David Nygaard Fine Jewelers and springs from his personal passion for perfection in diamond cutting.  David has searched the world to build this collection.  The collection includes both loose diamonds in traditional round and square shapes as well as finished jewelry.  All diamonds in the collection are perfectly cut down to one four-hundredth of a carat!  No other diamond collection can dare make this claim.

“I have examined virtually every diamond brand and have become disenchanted with the lack of consistent cutting, and the loose standards other “brands” hold.  I developed Passion Fire because I was fed up with over-priced diamond brands which failed to live up to their promises. I personally examine each diamond from each parcel of diamonds and have trained our cutters in the parameters I require.  There are no other diamonds in the world which hold these same standards for cutting.”  David Nygaard, Master Gemologist Appraiser.

The Diamonds:

Passion Fire Diamonds are available in either round or square shapes; in rounds, they are cut as small as 1/400th of a carat, and are generally stocked up to 2 carats, but can be special ordered in larger sizes.  In square, they are limited to 1/3rd of a carat and up.

Passion Fire Diamonds are loose and come serialized or non-serialized.  Serialized diamonds have an American Gem Society report and a cut grade of “Round -Ideal” and a G-Cal certificate.  We generally do not require a lab report or serialization for diamonds less than 1/2 carat.

The Square Passion Fire Diamond is a modified cushion/princess cut diamond and as such, is considered a “proprietary” cut.  Therefore, it is not cut graded “ideal” by the American Gem Society.  However, it carries David Nygaard’s personal endorsement.  “I have never seen a more beautiful or more perfectly shaped and brilliant square diamond on the market.  When I discovered the cutting, I knew it was perfect for our Square Passion Fire Collection.  I wish I could take credit for inventing it, but I’ll accept ‘perfection’ when I see it from any cutter.”

The Collection:

These styles show case the perfect cutting of Passion Fire.  The Collection consists of only Passion Fire Diamonds, down to the smallest stones.  No other brand can make this claim. 

“When I began to check the smaller side diamonds in diamond brands we used to carry, I found the diamonds were not perfectly cut and I discovered inferior diamonds were being set in places most jewelers simply didn’t or wouldn’t notice.  I determined that Passion Fire would be true to my own stated standards, and I would personally make sure only Passion Fire- perfectly cut diamonds would be used.”

Bridal:

CaptivatingTM   is the most popular Passion Fire style.  It is designed as a traditional “shared prong” but with an optional Hand Engraved and European (square) shank.  The Hand Engraving works best in 18kt gold, and the European-square shank keeps the rings from turning on the figure.  Captivating can be ordered with round and non-engraved shanks too.  The rings come standard as four stone semi mounts and five stone bands, sized quarter, half, three-quarter, full carat, and carat-quarter sizes as standard.  We have customized sizes in one third carat and one and half carat; we can custom any size, but ordering will take a little longer.  “I love the shared prong look, but often found other similar styles had weak and poorly designed features which often resulted in the end diamond falling out or repeatedly becoming loose; we fixed this in our design and have found they are much more stable than other brands we carried.  Many clients opted to switch to our design.” David Nygaard

Infinity: This is our version of a classic three stone, “Past Present, Future” ring, but with half bezel set centers and “micro-pave” diamonds down a very delicate shank.  Infinity is available in many sizes, from one carat total weight priced at $3995, to as large as you like.  David Nygaard will match your three center diamonds himself- you pick the price range and size and let him do the rest.  “We designed baby hearts into the design to reflect the “hearts” in the diamonds. The shank holds twenty perfect Passion Fire Diamonds, each 1/200th of a carat, and each with perfect symmetry you can see under the scope.” David Nygaard

 The Passion Fire designer collection has been designed with you in mind.  The designs are timeless as your love, and will never go out of style.  At the same time, they are designed to be worn every day, as much as they are for formal occasions.  The collection includes 14 and 18-karat white and yellow gold, Palladium as well as Platinum.

David Nygaard spent his early childhood camping and hiking across America.  Many designs are inspired by his memories of the natural wonders he came in contact with and the special times he spent with his family then and today, as he continues to share the same tradition with his wife and six children.  David first was introduced to jewelry through his mother, an accomplished and award winning designer, silversmith, and painter.  “The final test of a design lies in its ability to be enjoyed every day and transcend to future generations.  My hope is that these designs will be enjoyed today and fifty years hence much like the pieces of Cartier and Tiffany.”

Ageless FireT Diamonds are cut in all shapes with strict guidelines to maximize brilliance and desirability. Only diamonds meeting or exceeding preferred or ideal guidelines are selected. The most common shapes include the American Gem Society Ideal round brilliant cut, the square shaped princess or radiant cut diamond, the classic marquise cut and the timeless emerald cut diamond. Of course, any shape can be chosen, the sole criteria being exceptional brilliance, preferred proportions, and uncompromising clarity and color standards. Each has been personally inspected by David Nygaard.
